Wil Wheaton interviewed (also: site contests updates) Posted by Butch on June 28, 2005 @ 11:42 am EST - Link
Slashdot held a recent interview with Wil Wheaton (voice of Aqualad) regarding many aspects of his career in acting and writing, including his experiences with voice-acting Titans East member Aqualad.
Wil: "A typical episode takes about two hours, and when we're done, the director and producers play back their "pick" takes from the session, in context, and usually bring a few of us back in to "pick up" a few lines here and there. They edit all the takes together, and send the final product to the animators. Several months later, we come back into the studio to clean up anything that may have made sense when we recorded it, but doesn't work in the context of the final animation. We also record all the "OOF!" and "URGH!" and "THWOCK!" sounds for our fights at this time, so we match the action on the screen.
A couple of weeks after this session, the episode usually hits your television."

Mother Mae-Eye ep details & more (also: new designs in Official Art gallery) Posted by Butch on June 27, 2005 @ 1:41 pm EST - Link
With the "Mother Mae-Eye" premiere fresh in mind, we've added new character model sheets in the Official Art gallery. They include Mother Mae-Eye models (in flavors "nice" and "witchy") and style sheets for Control Freak, all done by character designer Derrick Wyatt. Enjoy! More to come soon, because Mother loves you.
It contains neat Teen Titans drawings among other things. Stuart Ng also carries sketchbooks by Glen Murakami and Brianne Drouhard along with Derrick's. Well, for as long as they're in stock, so get them quick.
Episode details (pop culture refs, cameos, etc.) for "Mother Mae-Eye" have been added. Check them out here in the Episode Guide.
excerpt: "Mae-Eye can be seen driving the T-Car in pure Ed "Big Daddy" Roth style (ie. Rat Fink). Screenshot here."
Don't forget about our "Mother Mae-Eye" screenshots (all 179 of em), and give us your thoughts on "Mother Mae-Eye" in its episode discussion at our Forums.
New site area: our Official Art gallery is now up! Posted by Butch on June 23, 2005 @ 6:00 pm EST - Link
I present to you, TitansGo.net's Official Art gallery. In it, you will find production artwork from the series' design crew.
So far, we have character sheets and (I'm still geeking out over them) ten prop designs for the show's vehicles by designer Norm Ryang. The vehicles just look amazing.
Enjoy the gallery, everyone. We will be regularly updating it with new designs and production artwork, so keep checking back.
Also, if you haven't already known, today is this site's 1 year anniversary. All of us at TitansGo.net would like to thank everyone for sticking with us. Cheers, and here's to many returns!
Exclusive Teen Titans toys & cards from Bandai! (also: Teen Titans CCG schedule is out) Posted by Butch on June 20, 2005 @ 3:44 pm EST - Link
Comic-Con International has released their list of convention-exclusive figures, among them a special Beast Boy figure that Bandai is offering only to convention attendees (pictured on right).
(from Comic-Con:)
"Translucent green 1.5" Beast Boy Collectible. Last year they had the Red X, this year they have BB mid transformation and translucent to boot! Get this hot exclusive while they last!"
Note: this exclusive figure's sculpt is based on one previously designed for Bandai's 1.5-inch figures, whereas Red X Robin was entirely new)
For those curious about last year's (Robin as) Red X exclusive, take a look.
For those not attending Comic-Con, Bandai's also got you covered. Such as free exclusive cards for their Teen Titans CCG ("collectible card game").
They're giving away a variety of special foil-stamped cards for months to come, and there's only one catch: you must participate in scheduled Tournaments hosted for playing the Teen Titans CCG.
For tournament details, check the official site:
- TeenTitansCCG.com
Each month's tournament events offer 4 special cards exclusively for entrants and game organizers. For June, a stamped Beast Boy or Starfire is given to entrants just for playing. A stamped Robin card is awarded to winners, and a gold-stamped alternate Robin card is given to players signed on as Game Organizers.

Marv Wolfman interviewed for Comic Con International Posted by Butch on June 16, 2005 @ 3:09 pm EST - Link
The latest newsletter for the Comic Con International in San Diego (comic-con.org) has an interview with Marv Wolfman and George Perez, creators of the 1980s series "The New Teen Titans", by which the animated series is influenced.
In it, Marv had a bit to say regarding the show:
"CCI: What's it like seeing these characters brought to life as an animated series?
MW: I'm thrilled and I love the show. What I really like is that they found their own take the same way George and I did when we came onto 'Titans'. By having it so far off and yet at the same time having Starfire, Raven, Cyborg and all the villains - and I'd say 95% of those villains are characters created by George and me or by me after George left - it's a thrill because they're finding new ways of doing what we had done, and they're doing it with respect."
As some of you are aware, this year marks 25 years since the NTT series' inception. Marv'll be honored as a special guest at the con event for its big anniversary. Unfortunately, George had to cancel his appearance.
Comic con will run from July 14-17 at the San Diego Convention Center. Hope to see you there!

Animation Insider spilled the beans on the title of the Teen Titans DTV, which is "Teen Titans: Tokyo".
A few months ago, we at TitansGo.net (and most likely other Titans fan-sites) caught wind of the DTV but sat on our hands about it, so now we feel a bit obligated to confirm some new details on the project:
1. "Teen Titans: Tokyo" will see the Titans on a vacation adventure in Tokyo, Japan (probably obvious, eh?)
2. the writer for "Teen Titans: Tokyo" will be none other than story editor/producer David Slack.
We'll release new details on "Teen Titans: Tokyo" when we can, so stick around Titans fans.
Want to discuss the DTV? Come on over to the DTV thread in our forums.

I'm pleased to announce that the Practice and the Main Oekaki, as well as the Audio downloadsection have been re-opened.
