"Complete First Season" Give-away DVDs to be autographed! (also: more from the Titans crew) Posted by Butch on February 25, 2006 @ 5:11 pm EST - Link
If you haven't entered the "Complete First Season" DVD Give-away yet, this should encourage you to: we recently were able to arrange for the DVD prizes to be signed by the Teen Titans crew! With the crew disbanded following the series' cancellation, this could be the last chance to get something signed by them. Each of these signed DVD sets are sure to be a definitive part of any fan's collection, and as a way to keep the series' memory going strong.
As of this update, there are only 7 days left until the March 4th deadline. A 3-day grace period after will be given for mailed entries. After that, we won't be accepting anymore fan art entries to win the autographed "Complete First Season" DVDs, so don't hold back.
To enter, either email us your Teen Titans fan art (drawings, comics, collages, etc.), or ask us for a mailing address to send your fan art entry to. Thanks to all who've entered so far, and good luck!
Teen Titans director Matt Youngberg has posted several concept sketches for Teen Titans episodes on his blog ("Bunny Raven", "Date With Destiny", etc.). He also gives interesting info on what went on during production. Check out his awesome development drawings for Punk Rocket's design for "The Lost Episode", which happened to be Matt's debut as a Teen Titans director!

Wil Wheaton (voice of Aqualad) made a podcast focusing on various issues, most notably a reason for Teen Titans' cancellation. Wil offers interesting discussion on the issue, which you can hear starting about 20 minutes into the audio clip (for those who cut to the chase). Thanks to aeryvalley for pointing this out!
For those with slow connections:

Background designer Hakjoon Kang provides a closer look at the drawings on his blog, as done for the show by the almighty Bruce Timm (JLU, Batman ...yea, you know). Check them out!
Character designer Derrick Wyatt gives a behind-the-scenes look at a few Teen Titans episodes on his blog. Anyone notice the sudden change of waitresses at Terra and Beast Boy's bar hangout, Ben's Bacon Bar & Grill?

The February issue (#102) of the Official Playstation Magazine will come packed with a disc containing a playable demo for the upcoming Teen Titans console game! Those who didn't get a shot at hands-on play can finally try the game out for themselves this month.
According to several sources, this game appears to have been pushed back to release on April 4th, 2006. For screenshots, videos, and more info on the Teen Titans console game (for PS2, Xbox & Gamecube), visit its official website.
Two more looks into Teen Titans' show production and one wormy cookie, courtesy of the Titans crew.
First off, director Ben Jones posted comments on the voice actor recording sessions for "Bunny Raven" and "Mother Mae-Eye", along with a H.R. Pufnstuf costume-clad Derrick Wyatt (character designer). Check it out here on his blog.
Character designer Brianne Drouhard put up a particularly cute looking cookie on her blog, in the likeness of everyone's favorite mutant grub, Silkie.
Lastly, background designer Hakjoon Kang posted a crystal design (as seen in "Kole") he did line-art for, which was beautifully cleaned up and finalized by background painter Chu-Hui Song. For those who don't recall, this crystal was used as the main component for Dr. Light's light-absorbing machine.
Upcoming Teen Titans toys revealed at Toy Fair 2006! (also: Smallville's "Cyborg" this week) Posted by Butch on February 14, 2006 @ 4:27 pm EST - Link
Bandai showcased many of their announced (and unannounced!) new Teen Titans toys for this year at the Toy Fair 2006 show in New York. The event took place very recently this week, February 13th & 14th. Superhero Times has provided a large gallery of photos from the Bandai Teen Titans display, which you can view here.
Very exciting unveilings from Bandai. We'd been informed beforehand by some sources that the Doom Patrol and Brain (as well as a few upcoming plans) were in the works, but the Silkie and Raven's Soul-Self figures are complete surprises to us. The proportions and design are clearly following the higher sculpt quality first seen with the Apprentice pack (Robin & Terra), and we can't wait to see what else Bandai will have in store for fans as the year unfolds. Great show, Bandai. Keep it up!
Don't forget: the "Cyborg" episode of Smallville airs this Thursday (Feb. 16th) at 8:00 PM on The WB.
The Silkie & Larry super-show! (also: Teen Titans console game up for pre-orders) Posted by Butch on February 12, 2006 @ 7:51 pm EST - Link
New Titans crew art! Teen Titans character designer Derrick Wyatt offers up a look at what could've been, over at his art blog. The new character drawings include Larry the Titan in Great Gazoo get-up (think "The Flintstones"), and his faithful steed Silkie teaming up! Or maybe you're imagining things. That's okay, Great Larry always looks after his "dumb-dumbs".
The Teen Titans console videogame for Playstation2 is almost upon us. It won't be out til February 14th, but you can now pre-order your copy from Amazon.com here!
For screenshots and more information on this game (and its other console releases), check out the official Teen Titans videogame site.

Even more Teen Titans crew artwork! (also: Toyfare TT guide; Complete Season 2 DVD news) Posted by Butch on February 8, 2006 @ 7:09 pm EST - Link
Another lengthy update with production artwork, and some Titans-related news too.
More Teen Titans production art has been added to several blogs of the show's crew. Background designer Hakjoon Kang has put up some of his favorite Teen Titans backgrounds. Included are: the Clean Room as seen in episode "Masks", the Looney Tunes-styled background as seen in "Episode 257-494", the Moroccan market from episode "Trust", and lastly a rendition of Titans Tower in Super-D style. Wonderfully colored and designed backgrounds. Click the links to view them.
The great Derrick Wyatt went and got himself a blog! He's put up a bunch of his Teen Titans character design work in it, located here. Included so far is a Mumbo sign from "Bunny Raven", a Red Star sketch for TitansGo.net forum moderator UJoF, and various character models and turns. Stay tuned to it for new upcoming stuff!
Lastly on the Teen Titans production art end of things, prop designer Norm Ryang has added a sheet with a ton of his T-Sub concept drawings (later modified to be the T-Ship) to his art blog. Very much worth giving a look, and you can see firsthand alot of what went into the evolution of the vehicle's final design. Check em out.
Wizard Magazine's official site reveals that the full Teen Titans episode guide expected in Toyfare #103 will actually be in Toyfare #104, which is out in stores today. Pick it up!

More artwork from the Teen Titans crew! (also: Smallville's "Cyborg" images) Posted by Butch on February 6, 2006 @ 7:58 pm EST - Link
Here's more Teen Titans artwork from three of the excellent crew that made Teen Titans what it is.
Teen Titans director Ben Jones has set up an art blog here with a bunch of neat Teen Titans and JLU doodles, among other things. Check out that sheet of Cyborg character variations and all the other drawings. Only look at the Super-D'd Slade if you're interested in changing your religion.
Character designer Brianne Drouhard put up a cool Starfire drawing on her blog, which she did as a gift to a visiting Teen Titans fan.
For some more Titans drawings and an all-around gathering of Brianne's great artwork, give her site a good look too.
Last but not least...
Character designer Jon Suzuki's put up a big bunch of incredible Teen Titans artwork on his blog. You really have to go see them for yourself. They include: a couple of Cyborg production drawings (in normal and "Giant Robo" flavors), marker compositions of Mammoth and Spike (aka "the mechanic"), Super-D drawings of Terra and Monsieur Mallah (an absolute must-see), and finally a comic page layout with Starfire.
In other Teen Titans news, Comics Continuum has provided several images from the upcoming Smallville episode, "Cyborg", which features actor Lee Thompson Young as the titular character. This episode will air on Thursday, February 16th.
