In a press release this week, Warner Bros. states that Teen Titans episodes will return to the Kids' WB Saturday morning block! The big return will kick off with "Divide and Conquer", airing at 9:30 AM on December 1st, 2007. Episodes will not necessarily be in original airdate order, however. Still, it's a great early holiday gift from WB!

In the release, Betsy McGowen (Sr. VP and General Manager for Kids' WB) states that: “This groundbreaking series has resonated with kids since its debut, and the series’ action, style and inherent humor are a perfect complement to our current broadcast lineup”.

With Teen Titans' huge success being recognized once more, hopefully this means we'll see more Titans one way or another. Make sure to tune in for TT on Kids' WB Saturdays; if Warner is using this "new" weekend spot to test the show's ongoing popularity, it's going to need its fans' support! Click here for the full press release, posted by Newsarama.

Teen Titans colorist Chris Hooten put up a sheet of Robin's colorwork in various lighting to show how characters are handled differently depending on the tone and setting of a scene, and how they react to eachother. Really neat look into design development; it goes to show just how much consideration and planning must be given for every scene in an episode.

Click here to check out Chris' Robin colorwork sheet. Chris also recently did colors for the upcoming "Transformers: Animated" show, and is currently working on the next "Ben 10" show produced by Teen Titans producer Glen Murakami. We'll be seeing alot more of his and the rest of the TT crew's awesome current work on TV soon!

Story editor Amy Wolfram interviewed (also: new TT comic solicits & SPT DVD reviewed)
Posted by Butch on November 20, 2007 @ 11:49 pm EST - Link

Newsarama interviewed Teen Titans story editor Amy Wolfram about working on the TT animated series and now writing the "Teen Titans: Year One" comic mini-series coming this January. Amy discusses her experiences being a writer and story editor for the show, as well as the basic production process, and more.

Amy: "we were dealing with a younger audience for the series and wanted to tell stories that they could relate to, such as sibling rivalry, fighting with friends, challenging one’s limits, having your father be the devil. For Year One it’s been different for me, because I’m still getting to know most of the characters. Robin is the only character from the TV line-up, and he is different in this version which made it more of a challenge to find out who Robin is when with Batman vs. Robin with the Titans. Plus, we are meeting the other characters just as they are getting to know each other, which is awkward and exciting at the same time."

How did Marv and George's "New Teen Titans" influence her work? What's her favorite Titan and episodes? Click here to read the full interview. "Teen Titans: Year One" #1 comes out January 2nd, 2008.

Yesterday, DC Comics released their February 2008 solicits, with lots of new Titans stuff in-store (including the first issue for "Tiny Titans"!). Click below for each upcoming title's cover and details from DC.

- Teen Titans Go! #52 (for Feb. 27th, 2008)
- Teen Titans: Year One #2 (for Feb. 6th, 2008)
- Tiny Titans #1 (for Feb. 13th, 2008)

"Teen Titans: Year One" artist Karl Kerschl has put up a much larger TT: Year One #2 cover, featuring Aqualad and his childhood fear of fish. Check it out, it's large enough to really appreciate the detail and artistry that went into designing the cover (with beautiful colorwork by Stephane Peru). Lots of great Titans stuff (even aside from the regular TT titles) coming early in the new year!

A few weeks ago, Warner released "The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians" series DVD for the last version of the classic Super Friends. In this series, Cyborg alone got his first major cartoon debut in his own right (at the time, Robin was still playing sidekick to Batman) as a full team member. Going back in time to see Cy's outing intrigued us to check it out, and we did a review of the set for anyone interested in seeing his cartoon roots.

- Staff Review for "The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians" DVD

In the bonus feature, The Batman's Alan Burnett, DC Comics' Paul Levitz, and others explain what made Cyborg stand out over the other Titans in making the team. Aside from some good stories overall (ie. Batman's origin animated for the first time in history), it's got a few things you may've never known about Cy in relation to superhero animation, and more.

It's almost here! The "Teen Titans: The Complete Fourth Season" DVD will be available in just three days (Tuesday, November 20th). Widely considered the best season of the entire series, Season 4 featured the epic coming of Trigon arc. Okay, it was also the "Slade and Raven redesign the meaning of awesome" arc, joined by more awesome things like "Episode 257-494", "Stranded", and Beast Boy vs. space tofu. Needless to say, this DVD is a must-have.

If you haven't ordered it yet, Amazon.com has it available at a discounted price ($14.99) and eligible for free shipping:

We must also remind that the fate of more animated Teen Titans projects depends highly on the show's DVD sales. Show your support by spreading the word to your friends about this series we all love; more fans and more DVD sales equals more Titans enjoyment for everyone. Also, more space tofu (maybe).

The Teen Titans Halloween Costume Contest deadine has passed! No more entries will be accepted.

A big thanks to everyone who sent in their wonderful Titan-costuming entries to us, and good luck to you all. After we've decided on a winner, we'll post the contest results as well as a gallery of all the photo entries we received. Stay tuned!

According to Comics Continuum, Cartoon Network has announced a movie for the upcoming "Transformers: Animated", which will kick off the TV series itself. Titled "Transform and Roll Out!", the movie will premiere on CN on Wednesday, December 26th @ 8:00 PM (EST/PST).

Teen Titans character designer Derrick Wyatt serves as art director for "Transformers: Animated", and is joined by fellow Titan crew artists Matt Youngberg, Ben Jones, and Irineo Maramba (director, director, and storyboarder for Teen Titans, respectively), as well as Tara Strong, Tom Kenny, and a few other Titan voice actors. Mark your calendars; the movie will debut the latest studio work from these awesome artists, as this series shows and animates the Transformers in a different and more expressive way.

Amy and Karl "TT Year One" interview (and: TTG Vol. 6 releasing; Halloween contest deadline nears)
Posted by Butch on November 12, 2007 @ 11:27 pm EST - Link

Today, Comic Book Resources has interviewed Amy Wolfram and Karl Kerschl, the writer and artist behind the much anticipated "Teen Titans: Year One" mini-series. The series will focus on the original "Fab Five" Titans team (which consisted of Robin, Kid Flash, Wonder Girl, Aqualad, and occasionally Speedy), with the first issue coming out on January 2nd, 2008.

Amy Wolfram: "Aqualad, I guess, we had in a few of our episodes and we had two episodes with Kid Flash, but really the lineup is completely new to me. And the dynamics are new so to see them at that age and just getting together and forming, there's a lot more stories that can be told down the line. But we are really enjoying going back to the beginning and exploring how they came to be how they are."

Amy (TT animated story editor) talks about her experience going from writing for the animated series, to now writing comics for the original "Fab Five", whose members she was mostly unfamiliar with. She and Karl add that collaboration on TT Year One is high, with the process being close to how Amy developed stories for the animated series with the rest of the production crew. The interview goes into depth about Amy and Karls' plans for the team, how TT Year One will be new while keeping true to the characters, developing them as heros starting to emerge from sidekick status, their plans for each team member, and more. Definitely a good look into what we can expect from this awesome looking mini-series when it hits in January. Click here to read the full interview.

At last! This Wednesday, the very first full-sized collected volume for "Teen Titans Go!" will be released! "Teen Titans Go!" Volume 6 (titled "Titans Together") will be replacing the old "digest book" format with a larger book size printed on higher grade paper, and will contain 7 issues instead of 5 (specifically, TTG #26 to #32). You can order it now from Amazon.com:

Buy Teen Titans Go! Volume 6: "Titans Together"

Not only does Volume 6 contain arguably some of the best TTG stories ("Surprises", "Who Wants Pie?", "Arena", etc.), but high sales for the book will also tell DC Comics that we want the collected TTG books to continue and to see more new issues for the series. Be sure to get your copy this week!

There's just 3 days left to enter the Teen Titans Halloween Costume Contest, which ends on November 15th!

If you haven't sent in your entry yet, enter by sending a photo of yourself wearing a Teen Titans-related costume to contests@titansgo.net. The best costumes will receive prizes, so be sure to send in before the deadline. Thanks to everyone who sent in their entry, and good luck to all who enter!

TT Halloween Contest '07 extension (also: J. Torres on this month's TTG #48)
Posted by Butch on November 4, 2007 @ 7:49 am EST - Link

The deadline for the Teen Titans Halloween Costume Contest has been extended to match last year's length, in order to give everyone more than enough time to send us their costume photos.

The new deadline for costume photo entries is November 15th.

Enter the contest by sending a photo of yourself wearing a Teen Titans-related costume to contests@titansgo.net. Your costume can be anyone in the Teen Titans universe...hero or villain, animated or from comics. The best costumes will receive a prize, so be sure to get your photos to us by the deadline, and have fun!

The latest issue of "Teen Titans Go!", #48, arrived in stores this Wednesday! It gives new Titan member Kilowatt some much needed character development after his brief appearances before the animated series' cancellation, and shows us some very interesting character and team appearances. Over at his blog, "Teen Titans Go!" writer J. Torres provides some writer's insight for this issue. He also gives a few background details on Kilowatt appearing in "Teen Titans Go!":

"Kilowatt's story was originally plotted as a two-parter (which was going to be published in non-consequetive issues as we've been doing with our stories involving "sequels"). When we got word of the series' cancellation we had to abort one of the stories."

Click here for J's full post, then pick up the issue and join our forum's TTG #48 discussion for some fan reviews.
