Rob Hoegee Chat Transcript Available!
Posted by Forau on November 23, 2006 @ 12:23 pm EST - Link

For everybody who missed it (again), here is the transcript of our live chat with Rob Hoegee a couple days ago! We'll have a Q&A summary up in a few days but the transcript shows how hectic and fun it was.

Thanks for the chat, Rob! (Q&A excerpts & TT script winner! also: TTG updates)

Sunday's live-chat with Teen Titans story editor Rob Hoegee was incredible. Thanks for being such a great guest, Mr. Hoegee! The Q&A went for over 2 hours, as Rob lay his Titans wisdom upon us. The event ended up being so big, that we had to cut out roughly half the questions lined up. To those whose questions didn't make the cut, we're truly sorry. We'll provide a Q&A summary soon, but in the meantime, here's some major excerpts to whet your curiousity:

Regarding Teen Titans' final season, Rob said: "At the beginning of season five, we were told that it would be the last batch of episodes ordered. In fact, we were slated to do 20 rather than the usual 13. Amy [Wolfram] and I (along with David [Slack] and Glen [Murakami]) mapped out a pretty ambitious season arc - with 20 eps, you have that luxury...". He later added: "After we planned everything out, it was, 'Oh, by the way, now we're only doing 13'. So we had to make some serious modifications to end up where we did. We also knew that season five would be the last one. This was from the very beginning. Also the reason we ended with "Things Change". Now... here's the part you want to hear about..."

Rob went on to explain that Teen Titans would go through a "rebranding" for Season 6 (as considered early on by David Slack) and include all the new Titans of the fifth Season. For that in detail, as well as the full Q&A, stay tuned for our summary. Thanks again Rob, for taking time to chat up TT fans and answer their questions. It's truly appreciated!

After Rob made his exit, we held a Titans trivia game, with the prize being an official Teen Titans episode script used during the show's production (autographable and mailed from Rob himself, to boot)! After nearly an hour, one winner emerged. Congratulations to TitansGo forum member peachykeen! You'll be contacted soon for your prize; enjoy your very own genuine piece of the Teen Titans show (as well as the envy of many fans)!

Now for some comics: this month's "Teen Titans Go!" #37 will include a bonus Teen Titans insert comic, drawn by TTG regular artist Todd Nauck. The insert also appears in all of DC's "Johnny DC" comics for November 2006, so "Justice League Unlimited" #27 (which came out recently) already contains it. As we earlier reported, the bonus story is part of a child education campaign by Schwab Learning. And if you miss it, the comic is already available for viewing on Schwab affiliate site Sparktop.org (a followup will also be on this site eventually). Not a knockoff, and filled with Todd Nauck awesomeness. Check it out, then pick up TTG #37 next week for the actual insert!

Also, JTorresOnline has provided a 5-panel preview for TTG #37 (out in stores Nov. 29th), a special holiday issue that features Starfire's pet Silkie getting his hands (er, feelers?) on Mumbo's magical hat. Much hilarity to ensue; click the link to get a sneak peek for this story.

Win an official TT episode script! (also: more TTG-styled DCU characters)
Posted by Butch on November 17, 2006 @ 12:52 pm EST - Link

As if a live-chat with Teen Titans story editor Rob Hoegee this Sunday night wasn't already enough, anyone attending will get a shot at owning an official Teen Titans episode script! You heard completely right. In an infinite stroke of generosity, Rob has offered to award the winner of the live-chat's trivia game an actual copy of an episode script used during the series' production. The winner can also get it autographed by him, and pick from any TT episode if desired. How's that for a super awesome extra incentive? Thanks, Rob!

Remember: the live-chat with Rob takes place Sunday, November 19th, at 8:00 PM Eastern time (5:00 PM Pacific time), in TitansGo.net's chatroom. For full details on this event, click here. See you all Sunday night!

"Teen Titans Go!" artist Todd Nauck busted out a few more TTG-styled characters plucked from the DC Universe comics. Included are an adorable Miss Martian (a "One Year Later"-gap TT member), Ambush Bug (dimension-hopping "sidekick" to Superman), and last but definitely not least, ghost-girl Secret from "Young Justice" (a comic for which Todd was the regular artist). These three may never see an animated makeover, but at least now we have an idea of what they could look like. Click here to view these latest three from Todd!

TT Videos and J.Torres Chatlog
Posted by Forau on November 16, 2006 @ 12:53 pm EST - Link

Last month we held a live-chat with J. Torres and now you can finally read the full transcript on the interviews-page! I've cleared it up a bit with proper coloring and some nice spacing so that you can easily see who is saying what. It's not as clear as the summary we posted earlier, but for everybody who missed out on this chat it will give good idea of how our upcoming chat with Rob Hoegee will probably go.

I've also created a new page which holds all our downloadable Teen Titans clips. There's not many (sorry!), but we will see if can put up some old ones as well.

You've also probably noticed that the schedule is currently offline for maintenance. Rest assured that it will return this weekend after I've made some adaptations to it that will allow us to update it more easily.

Scenes from "Tokyo" (also: submit Qs for Rob's live-chat by tomorrow night!)
Posted by Butch on November 15, 2006 @ 12:53 am EST - Link

Take a tour of the sights and scenes of Tokyo! Teen Titans background designer Hakjoon Kang provides several scenes of Tokyo he created during production of the Teen Titans "Trouble in Tokyo" movie. Included are a staggering aerial view of the city of Tokyo, two versions of an alleyway (one fully composed, and one without its overlay to reveal the layout), and the gigantic printing press machine that Commander Daizo used to enslave "super villain" Brushogun. And is that Bomberman we see in the alleyway there?

Click the link to see the setups, and leave Hakjoon your thoughts. It's a shame how much work and detail are put into scenes we see for a few seconds, so seeing these up-close from him is a real treat.

Tomorrow night (Wednesday, Nov. 15th by 11:59 pm) will be the last day fans can submit questions to reserve for our live-chat event with Teen Titans story editor Rob Hoegee! This only applies to those who won't be able to show up, or those who wish to reserve questions in case our Q & A time cuts short. To submit your questions for Rob to answer, email them to us or post them here.
Note: anyone who shows up at the event will get a chance to ask Mr. Hoegee during the Q & A, but since our time with him is limited, submitting questions beforehand would be a good idea.

For those who'll be able to attend, don't forget the date and time! The live-chat takes place Sunday, November 19th, at 8:00 PM Eastern time (5:00 PM Pacific time), located in TitansGo.net's very own chatroom. For full details on this event, alternate ways to join in, and other info, click here. Hope to see you all Sunday night for our chat with Teen Titans' Rob Hoegee!

"Trouble in Tokyo" DVD cover art sketches (also: "Tokyo" airing twice more!)
Posted by Butch on November 4, 2006 @ 11:03 pm EST - Link

Teen Titans director Ben Jones put up several concept drawings he did for the "Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo" DVD's cover art! There are some really cool variations there, including one with a nice perspective of the city of Tokyo, and another closer to the actual design used:

Ben adds that the DVD's final cover design was by producer Glen Murakami. Click the link above to check out Ben's covers and leave him your thoughts!

Even if the "Trouble in Tokyo" DVD won't be out this month like initially promised, you'll be able to catch it again in a few weeks. According to Comics Continuum, the movie will re-air twice more: first on Friday, November 24th @ 2:00 PM, and again on Sunday, November 26th @ 3:00 PM (Eastern/Pacific). Mark those calendars for another double-dose of "Tokyo"!

Saturday's TTG Live-chat was a success! (also: Halloween Costume Contest reminder & TTG artwork)
Posted by Butch on November 1, 2006 @ 1:43 am EST - Link

Last Saturday's live-chat session with "Teen Titans Go!" writer J. Torres was a blast! A big thanks to the many fans who showed up to celebrate the comic series' 3rd year anniversary with us.

For those of you who couldn't make it (due to Halloweening parties, technical issues, etc.), read up on everything you missed with this J. Torres Live Q&A summary; thanks to JTorresOnline's Dmolla for helping to clean that up. The Q&A was originally planned for a couple dozen questions, but ended up being a massive 50+ question session! Everyone had a great time, and J revealed lots of interesting news, including Titan origin stories, upcoming character relationships, "darker" stories, new Titans, a new and enigmatic "Teen Tyrants" team, focus stories for Terra and the Fab Five, and more! There's also a vital bit concerning the TTG digests' future that fans may want to read. For all that and more, click the link for the live Q & A summary (a longer chatlog version will be up shortly).

And congrats to the event's trivia game winners: Psycho Silver and Scotty! You'll be contacted soon for your prizes.

Happy Halloween, everybody! Hope you all had a great time trick-or-treating! After bringing in your last nightly haul of candy, don't get out of those costumes just yet. If you dressed up as someone (or something?) from Teen Titans, snap a photo of yourself and send it to contests@titansgo.net to be entered into our TT Halloween costume contest! Once everyone's photos are in, we'll post a gallery showing them all off. There'll even be a prize for the trick-or-treater whose costume we like most.

The deadline for photos is November 3rd, 11:59 PM. Click here for full details on this TT Halloween costume contest.

JTorresOnline put up another neat, exclusive behind-the-scenes look at "Teen Titans Go!": Mr. Wolf's character concept sheet, designed by TTG artist Todd Nauck, along with scans of the issue this particular character appeared in (TTG #13). Mr. Wolf is an unassuming fellow who mysteriously transforms into a werewolf by night, and was created especially for the "Teen Titans Go!" series.
