New official artwork (incl. "Homecoming" parts 1 & 2) Posted by Butch on October 23, 2005 @ 7:24 pm EST - Link
Three new designs are now in the Official Artwork gallery. They include the gallery's first production sketches, from the Season 5 opener "Homecoming" Parts 1 & 2.
They are drawings for the robot drone's head in Part 1, and the Brotherhood of Evil's quantum generator as seen in Part 2. There's also a new vehicle development design, a throwaway of what's to come in Season 5. All designs are the work of prop designer Norm Ryang. Check them out in the gallery.
The official art gallery is regularly updated, so keep checking back.

The "For Real" episode details have been updated with references, cameos, and other interesting notes. Here's a few:
Control Freak's mechanical shark is named Glen, after series Producer Glen Murakami. "Get em, Glen!"
The "Bank of Perez" (screenshot) refers to comic artist George Perez, who co-created the 1980s era "The New Teen Titans" comic series with writer Marv Wolfman.
When Titans East communicates with Cyborg, he is seen wearing winter clothing. At this point, the Titans West team is presumably in Siberia, the site of next episode "Snowblind" (screenshot).
We get a first look at the Titans East version of the T-ship craft (screenshot).
The show's crew also pops up, including Director Ciro Nieli seen here. Check out all "For Real" details here in the Episode Guide.
We've got new production art in the Official Artwork gallery! The additions are three more beautiful R-Cycle designs by prop designer Norm Ryang. Go and check them out.

"Trust" premiering Tomorrow (and: Winner of the Autographed TT DVD!) Posted by Butch on October 7, 2005 @ 9:45 am EST - Link
Cartoon Network has a videoclip preview for new episode "Trust" on their website, featuring Hot Spot encountering Madame Rouge. They've also been airing a preview on TV featuring Robin tracking down Hotspot and Wildebeest, and who can forget the scene of Hot Spot attacking two Robins (one who is presumably Rouge) from the Fall '05 teaser? "Trust" airs on Saturday tomorrow at 8:00 PM, so don't forget to tune in. And be sure to check back here for screenshots and details after the premiere.
episode description:The Brotherhood of Evil has begun its master plan to eliminate all of the young superheroes around the globe, starting with honorary Titans Wildebeest and Hotspot. This new threat brings Robin to Morocco. But with an unknown enemy, how can anyone know who to trust? After much difficulty in picking one entry out of all the incredible fan art and comics we've received for the 2nd Autographed DVD Give-away, we've chosen one very talented winner...

A fan's tour of the WB Teen Titans Studio Posted by K on October 5, 2005 @ 11:29 am EST - Link
ZiggyB linked this amazing journal entry at the TitansGo.net Forums (includes photos from inside the studio!): WB/Teen Titans Studio Tour
He and a friend were treated to an inside look at the Teen Titans work area and got to hang out with the crew for the day:
We also talked to the producer of the show, Glen Murakami. His office is amazing btw! X-D Just check out the photos below. We talked a lot about the show, how the show is made. Random tidbits about some of our favorite episodes such as the recent Doom Patrol episodes, how space tofu came about into becoming an episode. I'm also really looking forward to the Teen Titans DVDs that will be coming out that contains Mr. Murakami's commentary about each episode. I just hope he remembers the details from all of the episodes. :)
There was even one wall that had backgrounds and characters from the upcoming Teen Titans Tokyo direct to video DVD. From what little we've seen, it's going to look amazing! 8-O For me at least, just looking at some of the background artwork made my jaw drop. And before you ask, no, I have no idea what it's going to be about, other then the Titans will be in Tokyo. Which I'm sure you could tell from the title of the DVD. Which is a good thing anyway, I hate getting spoiled. :)
Glen Murakami talks about Season 5 (also: Wendy's fastfood Titans toys) Posted by Butch on October 5, 2005 @ 7:19 am EST - Link
Last week, comic magazine Wizard #169 arrived in stores. With it came a brief one-page interview with Teen Titans producer Glen Murakami regarding what's in store for Season 5, as well as intentions behind its story and characters. The page also includes the art seen on Glen's promotional card that was handed out to attending fans at this year's past San Diego Comic-con.
In the present, the Titans find themselves in a race around the world against the Brotherhood, who are trying to recruit teen superheroes for their own sinister purposes. "I always liked in the comics that the Teen Titans went from one adventure to the next," Murakami shared. "We've spent four seasons in the Tower; I wanted to get them on the road."
"We've gotten a lot of demand for Jericho and I've always wanted to find a story for Gnarkk," noted Murakami. While these characters will be recognizable to longtime fans, as always, the animated versions will differ slightly from their print counterparts. "We enjoy putting our own spin on the characters from the comics," Murakami said. "A lot of these characters may not seem like standouts, but we find ways to make them cool and interesting."
We've scanned the full article for you to enjoy:
- TT Season 5 interview (page scan) The Wendy's fastfood restaurant chain is participating in a nationwide Teen Titans kids toy promotion, starting this week. I've been told locations have gotten their shipments as early as yesterday, so be ready to indulge your inner fastfood toy junkie when Wendy's officially decides to start it off.
The promotion will feature a total of 5 toys to collect with the kids meals. In the meanwhile, check out Wendy's Kids Meal site.
"Homecoming - Part 2" screens & details (surprise appearances: Wonder Girl & Psimon!) Posted by Butch on October 3, 2005 @ 3:01 am EST - Link
An excellent episode on its own, "Homecoming - Part 2" also provided an explosive range of character appearances, with tons of new and returning faces in store for Season 5. Of particular note... anyone who paid close attention to the last scene of the episode would catch not one, but two shocking cameo appearances: Wonder Girl of the "Fab Five" (Robin, Speedy, Kid Flash, Aqualad, & Wonder Girl of course), and original Fearsom Five member Psimon!
Wonder Girl was the only founding Teen Titans member missing from the show until now, and fans of the 1960s Teen Titans were treated to a shot of her grouped together with the rest of the original "Fab Five" team (screenshot - to the right of Aqualad, with her "The New Teen Titans"-era star earrings). Unfortunately, Wonder Girl will not be having any role in Season 5 beyond this brief glimpse. In fact, she doesn't officially have a character name (does "female hero #7" even count?). "Wonder Chick", we hardly knew ya. As for Psimon, the Fearsome Five's resident telepath/telekinetic can be seen standing between Jinx and Red X (screenshot).
We also have complete pans of the "Heroes" & "Villains" shots for you, and a ton of screenshots:
