Titans comics in July '08 (and: TT GAP clothing?; TTG nominee; Marv & Starfire in NZ)

This week DC Comics released their comics solicits for July 2008, the newly scheduled titles including "Tiny Titans" #6, "DC Special: Raven" #5 (the last for the mini-series), "DC Special: Cyborg" #3, and the collected book for TTG writer J. Torres' "Teen Titans Spotlight: Wonder Girl" mini-series. Click below for each title's cover and details:

- DC Special: Raven #5 (in stores July 2, 2008)
- Teen Titans Spotlight: Wonder Girl (in stores July 9, 2008)
- Tiny Titans #6 (in stores July 16, 2008)
- DC Special: Cyborg #3 (in stores July 23, 2008)

Tiny Titans gets new faces with Blue Beetle (Jaime Reyes) and Supergirl, plus a morning day routine with Trigon and Raven. J. Torres' work on Wonder Girl's (Cassie Sandsmark) mini-series gets collected too, so check it out in July if you missed its run. Easily Cassie's best characterization since "Young Justice".

Might there be an animated Teen Titans clothing line in the works for the GAP? "Teen Titans Go!" writer J. Torres posted on his blog about TTG comics seen in a GAP window display, and what they mean for DC characters in GAP's future:

J. Torres: "I was at the mall last week and as I walked past Gap Kids, I noticed one of the mannequins holding a Teen Titans Go comic! I took a second look and saw that there were Johnny DC comics throughout the window display. Most were TTG, but they also had an issue of Looney Tuness, Batman Strikes, and even Legion of Super-Heroes in the 31st Century #1..."

Turns out GAP will be churning out a new kids clothing line featuring DC Comics characters. With TTG prominently displayed in GAP stores, it looks like the animated and TTG Titans may get a different sort of revival! Click here for J's full post with more photos.

In related news, according to ToonZone, J. Torres has also been nominated for the 2008 Joe Shuster awards for its "Outstanding Canadian Comic Book Writer" category! Congratulations and way to go, J. We're rooting for you!

Titans creator/writer Marv Wolfman posted on his site that he, as well as Hynden Walch (voice of Starfire), will be attending this month's Armageddon Expo in New Zealand as special guests. If you're attending or in the area, check it out and give Marv and Starfire a visit!

Click here for Armageddon Expo's official site and details. If you miss the first event, no problem; Marv Wolfman and Hynden Walch will be attending both events in April (Wellington on April 19 - 20, and Christchurch on April 26 - 27).
