TTG #53 behind-the-scenes art (also: Glen's Ben 10 next month! & Marv's Raven series) Posted by Butch on March 8, 2008 @ 11:42 pm EST
"Teen Titans Go!" writer J. Torres recently posted some behind-the-scenes character designs for this month's issue #53, by artist Todd Nauck. The characters are Kid Kold and Ice Kate, two new villains who square off against Kid Flash and Jinx in the issue. The two villains also happen to be TTG's teenaged spin on DC's Captain Cold and Golden Glider (brother and sister, as well as Flash's rogues).
To follow the siblings theme, J also included Todd's character designs for Blackfire (in her Teen Tyrants form), Geo-Force, and Wildfire. Click here to check out J's post with Todd's awesome designs, and watch for "Teen Titans Go!" #53 in stores March 26th, 2008!
Teen Titans producer Glen Murakami's new series revamp, "Ben 10: Alien Force", will premiere in April 2008. And according to recent Cartoon Network spots, a sneak preview will be shown this Sunday, March 9th, 2008 (that's tomorrow!). Many Teen Titans animated crew members are onboard the "Alien Force" crew along with Glen (who is supervising), including TT's prop designer Norm Ryang and color artist Chris Hooten. With many awesome alien designs already revealed for the new series' toyline (from this year's Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair event), as well as some cool teaser images, "Alien Force" looks to greatly improve upon the already popular Ben 10 universe. We personally can't wait. Ben 10 as envisioned by Glen Murakami? Bring on the month of April!
Check out images from Ben10toys.net for a look at Glen's new Ben and "Alien Force" character designs in both toy form and teasers.
With the first issue of "DC Special: Raven" out this Wednesday, Newsarama interviewed Marv Wolfman (Titans co-creator/writer) on his thoughts on the work. Marv discusses his intentions behind this mini-series, his hopes of introducing the audience who loved the Teen Titans animated series and its Raven to western comics, what it's like returning to write this Titan he originally created, and more.
Click here for the full interview, and check out "DC Special: Raven" #1, available in stores now. It is Marv Wolfman writing Raven's latest incarnation, so aside from eye-rolling at the cover ("in her all new EMO series!"? Huh?), this mini-series should prove nicely with Titans fans of both old and new.
