Big update on TTG's status (also: Titans crew on new "Transformers" show!)

Some good news regarding TTG's current state: Fan letters sent in to DC Comics urging them against the possible cancellation of TT show-based comic "Teen Titans Go!" are being read and responded to. "NevermoreRaven" from the TitansGo.net forums sent a letter and received this response from none other than DC's President Paul Levitz:

"Thank you for your recent letters. I do not think we have officially ended Teen Titans Go! But the time is certainly near. With the animated TV series wrapped up and sales of the comic always having been fairly modest, it is time to make room for new projects. I hope you will enjoy most of them as much as you did Teen Titans GO!"

A more positive response from DC's Coordinating Editor Jann Jones:

"We love Teen Titans GO! and we are very proud of the work J and Todd have done. We're currently trying to figure out the future of the book. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and opinions with us."

The part about TTG's sales being "fairly modest" may be questionable, but the fact that DC is aware of the comic's fan support and are "trying to figure out" its future is a good sign. Since Paul is reading/responding (and is farther up the company ladder than Dan DiDio), we now encourage everyone to continue writing letters of support to save "Teen Titans Go!" and to address them to Paul Levitz.

Send your letters (please keep them courteous!) to:
Paul Levitz (and/or: Dan DiDio; Tom Palmer Jr.; "Johnny DC")

TTG writer J. Torres posted at Comic Bloc's forums that the "Teen Titans Go!" schedule is currently, but tentatively, up to #47. Issue #47 will be a 2-stories-in-1 issue featuring Starfire and Raven, and a retelling of Robin's origin as drawn by Teen Titans director Michael Chang! With more planned for TTG past #47, losing the series soon after would be a huge loss. Keep on writing letters everyone, DC is listening and responding!

The news is out: Teen Titans character designer Derrick Wyatt has been announced as the lead designer for Hasbro's upcoming new "Transformers" animated series! Hooray for Derrick, we're rooting for you!

Derrick confirms on his blog and adds a promo image for the show, as well as a link to this article from C21 Media with info on the show's order (2 seasons), distribution, and staff. Teen Titans' executive producer Sam Register is along for the ride, as well as several others from both the Titans production crew and voice-acting cast (Tom Kenny as Starscream!!).

Although no dates have been given for the show's debut, Tara Strong's site says it'll be out shortly after the big movie this year. Tara says she'll be voicing "Sari", one of the show's regulars (who she notes is "not a Transformer ... just a little girl!"). It's not Titans, but with Derrick at the character design controls and others from Teen Titans on staff, "Transformers: Animated" will be a show to look out for.
